Coca-cola has been around for centuries now and each year they introduce a new slogan and advert that manages not only to capture our attention but makes us create priceless memories because we are opening the happiness every time we drink it.
While most would argue on how coke has managed to be a global brand that has lived through generations it goes without saying that they advertising has manage to attract the attention of millions from your celebrities and the random family. Every year it releases different advertisements on radio, television and on billboard I can only imagine the budget that has to be set aside for such a big brand but i can confirm that through they public relations practitioner they have generated free publicity, and now with the use of social networks like your Twitter and Facebook it is no surprise that Coke still remains dominate.Coke continues to stay relevant through sponsoring big events and by giving back to various communities in Africa. The public relations of the organisation must be doing wonders because according to Coca-cola has been the worlds leading brand and this just shows how traditional media has had the power to influence generation to generation, Social media only started to grow recent and coke is living proof that television and radio reaches millions whether literate or not the message interpreted is simple and the target audience can understand.

Do you think Coca-cola would have been a success if it only depended on social media and not use traditional media?Or it needs to use both?have your say
|

No i do not think it would have had the same success Coke started centuries ago where the only form of communication that could be used was the radio and television,so it has come a long way and YES it needs both the social and traditional media to keep up with they targeted audience because it is not only old people who drink coke I also drink it and i am sure you also do.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you anonymous however coke is one of the free brands that i know would survive without social media because it has been surviving, but it can save more money than it has been saving by being more interactive on social networks
Deleteyes coke has a lot of mone for ads, that gives them a lot of resouces to fully exploit everything in many ways like the use of well know singers, the sponsorin of well known and loved tv shows like the idols
ReplyDeletewell coke has a very good creative team that is why new slogan each year for each ad.not the actual overall slogan but slogan for each media programme
ReplyDeleteBut than again the slogan changes each year and there are different adverts shoot for different countries.
Deletecoke this, coke that.i am sick and tired of coke, cant we for a second write something about pepsi?
ReplyDeleteas for you madam,if you have nothing to say just shut you big mouth, okay
DeleteMkhuseli it works for them they have generated millions and are making millions but do you think it would survive on social media alone or it needs both?
ReplyDeletecoke it's just amizing with or without the use of social media, awe all have been witnessess for that.
ReplyDeleteIt is part of our culture we all grew up drinking it so its part of childhood memory.
DeleteI think Coca-cola started of with traditional media and thats what made it succesful but because we live in a new era i think it would be wise to use both traditional and social media.
ReplyDeleteYes and it still remains a power house with both media's i think the credit must go to their PRP.
DeleteI think it needs both social media and traditional media to be a success.
